How does SeaIM implement end-to-end encryption?
SeaIM uses the industry-standard end-to-end encryption protocol (E2EE). Messages are encrypted on the sender's device and can only be decrypted on the recipient's device. During the entire transmission process, no intermediate nodes, including the SeaIM server, can read the message content.
Will SeaIM save my chat history?
SeaIM does not store the content of your private messages on the server. Chat history is only saved locally on your device and protected by multiple layers of encryption. Even if your device is lost, unauthorized individuals cannot access your chat data.
What is Web3 identity sovereignty?
Web3 identity sovereignty allows you to verify your identity by signing with a digital wallet, without relying on traditional mobile phone numbers or email addresses. This means that you have full control over your account. Even if there are changes to the SeaIM platform, your identity credentials remain valid, completely eliminating the risk of your account being remotely stolen.
Are group messages also end-to-end encrypted?
Yes, SeaIM's group messages are also protected by end-to-end encryption. Each message in the group is encrypted and sent to each member individually to ensure that only group members can read the message content.
How to enable/disable the self-destructing message function?
In the chat interface, click on the contact name or group name to enter the settings page, and find the "Self-destructing Messages" option to enable it. After enabling, you can set the automatic destruction time of the message, ranging from 5 seconds to 1 week.
Will SeaIM use my chat content for advertising or AI training?
No. SeaIM's design concept is to protect your communication privacy. In the end-to-end encryption scenario, the server cannot read the content of your messages. Therefore, there is no practice of using the chat text for targeted advertising or model training. Please refer to the currently effective Privacy Policy for the specific scope of data processing.
How can I report harassment, fraud, or违规 content when I find it?
Please use the reporting/feedback entry provided by the official within the app and attach relevant screenshots or descriptions of the conversation context if possible. We will conduct reviews and take appropriate actions in accordance with community guidelines and applicable laws, and protect the information of the reporter under the premise of compliance.
